In accordance with the will of the Holy Father, 24 men will be elevated to "the sacred purple" on November 20, 2010. Among these holy individuals is Archbishop Raymond Burke, former archbishop of the archdiocese of St. Louis. His Excellency is very active in promoting the usus antiquior and will be a blessing to the College of Cardinals. Please pray for these blessed men as they prepare to take on such a profound role in the Church. An excellent article concerning this issue may be read here.
Burke is the Bomb! I love this guy! I know that it's God's job to pick the next Pope but how awesome would it be for our man Raymond to get Peter's Keys?
ReplyDeleteI agree! His Excellency has done much for the Church in St. Louis and abroad. An American elected Pope...interesting.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are lucky to have Burke nominated as a Cardinal,..we (Canada) have Cardinal Ouellet,.another monster!!! I smell the wind the change blowing!!! JPII generation about ready to overthrow the 'social justice'(marxist) crowd!!
ReplyDeleteMarco, I agree. The Church is facing change for the better. Let's pray for her in this hectic time in the world.
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew as much about these issues as you all clearly do.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet I must say something. No matter what changes the "JPII generation" makes, there is still an underlying problem, at least in America, and I suspect outside America. The laity are trapped in materialism. I know I'm in deep.
If the debate over religion becomes dangerous, how many of us will still debate? How many will sit on the couch and drink cold Miller Lite?
